Trust Vacancies

HR AND RECRUITMENT MANAGER

Application closing date: Monday 27th April 2026, 12noon

Location: Hybrid / home-based with travel to Trust schools

Contract: Permanent, full time

Reporting to: Chief Finance and Operations Officer

Salary: £56,674.00-£62,581.00 per year (plus travel expenses)

Role to start from: 1st September 2026

About the role

This is a new post and an important one for the Trust.

We are looking for someone to take the lead on HR and recruitment across all of our schools not just to manage what’s there, but to build and shape how it works as we grow.

You’ll work closely with the CFOO and school leaders, providing advice and support on a wide range of HR matters, while also putting in place the systems, processes and structures we’ll need as a larger organisation.

Over time, there will be scope to develop a small team, so this role would suit someone who is comfortable starting hands-on but wants to build something longer term.

Full details of responsibilities are included in the attached job description.

How we work

The role is set up to be flexible.

You’ll be mainly home-based, but with regular travel to schools, currently in the North West and Midlands, and this will evolve as the Trust grows.

As part of our longer-term plans, we are developing a North and South hub model. The intention is to keep strong local links with schools while also working as a national organisation.

For the right person, this offers a good balance: flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to be part of something that is still taking shape.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with solid HR experience who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally.

You’ll need to be confident advising leaders, dealing with more complex or sensitive issues, and making sure our approach is consistent and compliant across all schools.

Just as important is the ability to work in a growing organisation. Things won’t always be fully formed, so being practical, adaptable and able to find solutions matters.

The person specification attached sets out the detail, but in simple terms we’re looking for someone who can:

  • build good relationships quickly
  • give clear, balanced advice
  • organise and improve systems
  • stay calm and professional when things are challenging

Why this role?

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to do more than maintain an HR function.

You’ll be helping to build it in a Trust that is growing but doing so in a way that is quite different from most others.

There’s real scope here to shape how things work and to grow the role as the organisation develops.

Safeguarding

Laetare Catholic Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to the usual pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
